Alternative Directions, Inc. — Making a difference in people’s lives. |

I am 46 years old, and have used drugs for over 15 years. My life had become a revolving door with prison and a lifestyle of drug activity. During my last incarceration, I began communication with Alternative Directions, Inc. I attended their After Care Transition (ACT) workshop where I was given information about reentry resources. The Civil Legal Department assisted me in obtaining a divorce. This allowed me to start over without that issue hanging over my head. I was accepted in the Turn About Program (TAP), and once released ADI sent me to Tuerk House to learn about my disease of addiction and then placed me in the Marian House after my release from treatment. ADI guided me through the necessary steps to where I am today. I am now employed with a treatment facility assisting people like myself. I am a responsible, independent, and productive lady of society. I also joined the Out for Justice Program, run by former prisoners, to help change policies that hinder reentry. If it was not for ADI guiding my path and me utilizing every avenue to turn my life around, I do not know where I would be. Thank you Alternative Directions for guiding me to be who I am today. | |
